LUCAS IS ADOPTED!

9 MARCH 2010

Holly writes:

Lucas is finally matched to a family! After all this time with no good apps, he got two great ones last week. A family came down and met him on Sunday and I still couldn't decide, butI made the decision tonight and let the family know. He won't be going home until early April, since they are moving from an apartment to a house at the end of the month, but at least I know he is going to a great family.

Jackie was adopted by Cathy & Chris Cook of Michigan,
who had previously adopted a pup named Eli
from CRUSA about three years ago. They write:

Just wanted to let you know how things are going with our new little one. She is fitting in just perfectly; she took a couple of days to learn to go up & down the stairs, but once she got that, is all over the house.

Ph

She is getting along with Missy & Elliott very well; she will follow Missy around and likes to be close to her, and will play with Eliot as much as he wants. They will play tug-of-war and they wrestle just like two little kids.

Ph

We took her to the groomer this week. I think she is happy. The other day she had taken all the toys out of the toy box; there had to be about 20 toys spread around her and she was going from one to another, just having a ball.

Ph

Thanks to all of you for bring this sweet girl into our lives. We just love her, and she is fitting so nice; I think she knows this is her home.

Now that we're home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in our warm new bed.
We'd like to open my baggage
Lest we forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top -
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by our leashes hide Fear and Shame.
As we look on these things we tried so hard to leave -
we still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

we loved them, the others, the ones who left us,
But we weren't good enough - for they didn't want us.
Will you add to our baggage?
Will you help us unpack?
Or will you just look at our things
And take us right back?

Do you have the time to help us unpack?
To put away our baggage,
To never re-pack?
We pray that you do - w're so tired you see,
But we do come with baggage -
Will you still want us?
