If there are no dogs in Heaven,
then when I die I want to go where they went.
In memory of JOHN VAN CLEAVE
An Airedale, erect beside the chauffeur of a Rolls-Royce,
Often gives you the impression she's there from choice.
-- E.B. White
In memory of MARY BOOHER, wife of Chuck and DogMom of Trudy & Clara
The inhabitants of the United States are, I think, the most practical people on the earth's surface, and there is no dog like the Airedale to them. If there is a secret in it, the reason that she appeals to them with such irresistible force is probably that she is a dog that one can go out and do something with.
-- Holland Buckley, The Airedale Terrier,1920
In memory of JOSEPHINE GOOD, who passed away in December 1999
In memory of PROFESSOR JOHN EMERY, who passed away on May 1, 2000, while trying to rescue his Airedale, Sophie, from their burning house. Read the story HERE.

In memory of ROGER CARAS, "The Voice of Westminster", author, past president of the ASPCA. Imagine all the animals who greeted him when he crossed The Rainbow Bridge on 18 February 2001. His voice will always echo in our hearts.
Dogs aren't our whole lives, but they make our lives whole.
-- Roger Caras
In memory of ROGER QUINN, who passed away on February 21, 2001, greatly missed by Rosemary, Monty & Maxine. Rosemary writes:
Roger has gone to a better place, stopping, I know, at The Rainbow Bridge to be reunited with our three Siamese cats, Suki, Suki II and Simon, and our Kerry Blue Terrier, Gemini. I know he is able to walk with ease with Gemini running along, Suki & Simon in his arms, breathing the fresh air and once again feeling the sun on his face. Rest in peace my love until we all meet again.
Whoever destroys a single life destroys the entire world;
whoever saves a single life saves the world entire.
-- The Talmud
In memory of JUNE DUTCHER, who passed away 20 July 2001. Joey Warren writes:
She was my friend, my teacher, my guide to many things and an inspiration. I'm sure she was all or some of these things to many of you as well. June is still with us all in her many many contributions to all things Airedale over the years. Her Coppercrest name will forever be stamped on the legacies of dogs we know and love even today.
I think she would say the less fuss over her the better and to move on, but I, for one, know this will be difficult without such a force in the world. A big tip of the black and tan hat from us."
There is, nevertheless, a certain respect and a general duty of humanity that ties us, not only to beasts that have life and sense, but even to trees and plants.
-- Michel de Montaigne, essayist (1533-1592)
In memory of MURIEL PREY, who passed away in December 2001. AmyMarie Fornelli writes:
Muriel and her husband bred Airedales for years and worked quietly rescuing. I can honestly say no more honourable and responsible breeders ever contributed to our wonderful breed.
In memory of MARTIN B. RIND, who passed away in January 2002. Sherry Rind writes:
He was a rare human being who [left] an abundance of good deeds and family love; a community leader of high integrity in every aspect of his life.
In memory of THELMA J. HAMILTON, "lover of all dogs, great and small; loved by her children and all who knew her. Her physical heart may have given out on April 24, 2002, but her HEART lives on in a thousand different ways."
In memory of SGT. ARDEN VANCE. Sally Babcock writes:
I normally don't make announcements in regards to FOAMF (Friends of Airedales Memorial Fund) as a matter of respect for family and friends, but this one has me shaken down to my boots.
Until I received a donation today I did not equate the recent death of one of our military in Afghanistan (caught in gunfire) which has been all over the news these past few days with one of our own.
It is with great upset and sorrow that I am writing this. Lisa Selmon Vance, SVATA and ATCA member was widowed on Sunday [19 May 2002]. Her husband Sgt. Arden Vance, age 38, was killed while on patrol in eastern Afghanistan. His unit came under heavy fire. He was serving as a reserve with the US Special Forces. Lisa resides in Morgantown, West Virginia and has two Airedales [Sasse & Storm]. Lisa and Arden were married last October.
This war on terrorism is coming too close to home.
Please join with me in offering a moment of silent thought or prayer in honor of this hero and for Lisa.
In memory of MORGAN KELLEY, who died on May 23, 2002. Morgan had four Airedales: Gussie, Stella, Phoebe & Zorro.
In memory of MARGARET CHEHY, "who died on May 29, 2002, and in honor of all our four-legged friends who have gone before us."
In memory of DARRELL PROCTOR, father of Donna Noland; Darrell passed on June 15, 2002.
In memory of MARY SCHOEN, Grandmother to Violet the Airedale. Mary crossed The Rainbow Bridge on December 26, 2002, and is missed greatly by her husband Alan, her daughter Valerie, DVM, and her several GrandDogs.
