If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went. PLEASE LIGHT A CANDLE FOR BARBARA DURANCE WHO CROSSED THE RAINBOW BRIDGE ON 6 AUGUST 2013 Comes the shocking news from Krista, via Paula Lackner: Today the Airedale world has lost someone who has given so freely of herself to make sure our Airedales got placed into their forever families. This afternoon Barbara Durance passed away suddenly, leaving many in shock and disbelief. Our heartfelt condolences go to her mother, sister and brother-in-law and their family, as well as her brother and sister-in-law and their family. Jane Davies & Krista Godwaldt write: Barbara's obituary . . . The funeral service was on Saturday, 10 August 2013, 2 P.M. in Ontario. On 11 August, Paula Lackner writes: I thought I would share with you the celebration of Barbara Durance yesterday. These are the flowers that were sent on behalf of all the volunteers in ATRA. I asked for no funeral flowers, so roses were the main flower. I think Barbara would have liked that. Barbara lost her life due to a blood clot going to her heart. The family was appreciative of our thoughts & prayers and, as you can imagine, still trying to deal with the shock. I hope you can make the Fall Aire Frolic. We will have a tribute & celebration of Barbara at the event. If you have a special memory of Barbara, pictures, etc., please forward to me HERE. We've lost a wonderful friend, rescue volunteer and a person who contributed to the betterment of the world. The best tribute we can all give Barbara is continue with the work of Airedale rescue, a passion she lived every day. The volunteers attending her celebration are planning to continue her good work in Ontario. Godspeed, Barbara. Francee Ender adds: Spice & Griffin did not attend. They have been very upset and waiting at the door for days for Barbara to come home. Barbara's mom, Doreen, plans to keep them. Here are some pics of Barbara (courtesy of Jane), and of her Airedales, showing both her love of dogs and her sense of humour . . .
