On 28 November, Jackie writes: It's cold, grey and miserable, so I had to get Lily a jumper [sweater] to keep her warm because she is so thin; only seven pounds and she was shivering when I took her out. She hates it . . . she sees herself as a ruffy tuffy big dog, not a little squirt. She was so embarrassed to be seen out in a jumper.
