Artist: Donna Noland, Birmingham, Alabama
Dogs' Names: Dosi, Walker & Lola
Media: Cross-stitch
Other info: I chose cross-stitch for two reasons: I like it and it's all I know how to do! I wanted to do something a little more elaborate, but knew I wouldn't be able to complete it in time. I chose to put all my dogs' names on it, even though Walker has never been shown or anything. (He's just the Champion of My Heart.)
Walker's name is in blue 'cause he's the boy. Dosi's name is in red because that's my (future) kennel's color and the kennel is named for her: Dosido Farm. Lola's name is in purple because when I saw her for the first time, she had on a purple puppy collar. The number six is there because no matter what, it seems that Dosi and now Lola always ends up with armband Number Six at the shows.
I picked the show motif because for the past two years, Dosi & I and now Lola have been learning all about dog shows and conformation and grooming. And there sure is a lot to learn! It makes me very happy to know that many years from now, someone will look at this quilt and at my square and know without a doubt that I loved these three terrierists with all my heart.
