It's raining Cairns . . .
. . . but these are on the Road to Rescue.
On 10 April, Gayle Kiesow writes:
On Saturday, April 12, Holly Crotty will leave Decatur, Illinois, heading for Waynesville, Missouri, to pick up eight Cairns from Dr. Tolliver. In this transport, we have three males & five females, ranging in age from seven months to 10 years.
Sherry, our 10-year-old, was going to be left behind; our foster homes are currently at their maximum. Gayle sent a plea out to a new volunteer in the Peoria, Illinois area to help find her a home and within 24 hours, Kitty Pope had a new home for Sherry with a wonderful family, the Bell's, from Canton, Illinois. First time foster family, first time being involved with a rescue and certainly first time being involved with a mill situation. Congrats to Kitty for jumping in and congrats to the Bell's for stepping forward. We at CRUSA are so fortunate to have these people join our organization.
Holly will be stopping in the St. Louis area to drop off puppy Sammy to long time fosters Paul & Shelly Joyce. Hopefully this new little guy will help with the pain of losing their last foster, Marie, to heartworm. [Marie's story can be read HERE]
Lennie
Molly
Holly will then continue on to Bloomington, Illinois, where she will meet up with Shell Lewis & myself. I will be taking Lennie to brand-new Foster Mom, - -, and Molly to brand new Foster Mom, Sandy Arnold. Both foster homes were obtained by running a newspaper ad in Peoria.
Sherry
The Bell's are making the trip to Bloomington to meet the transport as well. They are SO happy to be getting Sherry.
