It's raining Cairns . . .
. . . but these are on the Road to Rescue!
On 7 April, Sue Stoughton writes:
SUGAR, ROSIE & SOPHIA will be joining us tomorrow
from a shelter in Madisonville, Tennessee
ROSIE is an owner surrender; SUGAR & SOPHIA
were dumped by a groomer who was tired of them.

One-year-old SUGAR is friendly, loving & playful.
A very sweet dog, patiently awaiting a forever home.
[Last year's APRIL SHOWERS 2 Rescue Mission also included a Cairn named SUGAR. Read about that Rescue Mission HERE]

6 April - BLITZEN was in a shelter in Quincy, Illinois; we were trying to help by moving him to a foster home in Nebraska, when a gal from a group that works very hard in Quincy stepped up to foster Blitzen. Once we agreed to welcome her as a foster home, she left work, picked him up and had him home on her deck with her two Westies and doing really well. Lynne is a foster home for Westie and has been as a foster home for CP as well. We are thrilled to have her.
Thank you, Lynne.
11 April - GILBERT is an owner surrender from a family in Illinois. Due to an active toddler, Gilbert was no longer a good fit in their home and they came to CRUSA knowing we would find the perfect forever home for him. Maureen Grimm & family are driving home from their Florida vacation today to Milwaukee and meeting the owner to take Gilbert on home with them.
Thanks so much for helping out with Gilbert on the day you get home from vacation; not sure a lot of people would do that.

10 April - SHAGGY was pulled from a shelter by our Westie friend, Tracy, in Naperville and held for several days until we could find a male home open to foster. Tracy transported Shaggy to Marla Lunt to foster in Illinois.
Thank you, Marla, for always saying yes to our fur kids.
Thank you, Tracy, for again helping us save another Cairn.

10 April - TEDDY - A girlfriend of mine in St. Louis told me last June about Betty who lives in Missouri and monitors kill shelters and pulls all breeds to safety. I contacted Betty last year to let her know about CRUSA; she contacted me about a little Cairn who was going to be PTS within two days in a very small shelter in Missouri - five kennels and a gas chamber run by one man. She pulled Teddy and held him a day or two, then transported him to Dr. Tolliver for his vetting. The Joyces in Illinois are fostering Teddy, their second foster.
Thank you, Betty, for all your hard work saving these fur kids and taking time out of your busy schedule to transport Teddy to Dr. T.
And thank you to the Joyces for again stepping up to foster.
