WAITING FOR A SALE

13 JUNE 2014

After I went home, Diana had the carpeting cleaned,
her housecleaner cleaned all the shelves, etc.,
the lawn and trees and bushes were trimmed and cleared,
and she did some restaging and took photos for the MLS listing,
which began on 13 June;
Diana graciously gave me permission to show them here:

All these cupboards & drawers had to be cleared out.
I started putting shelf liner on the shelves,
but gave up after I made the decision to sell,
altho I left enough shelf liner to do the rest of these
and the bathrooms & utility room, too.

I don't even know what all was in this garden shed;
quite frankly, the garage and this shed were
way beyond my ability to clear them out.
My Dad could have started his own hardware store
with all the tools and equipment he bought throughout the years.

Remember this chair & table from my April-May 2011 trip
(which can be seen HERE)?
I was surprised they hadn't been thrown away.

This is where I had ten hummingbird feeders hanging,
which I gave to Diana's Mom, along with bottles of vinegar
(for cleaning them) and several pounds of sugar.

On 16 June, three offers were made; two written and one verbal.
One of the written offers was to purchase it sight unseen,
with a six-day inspection period (rather than the usual 10),
and for $1000 more than the asking price, cash.

I decided to accept this offer and off we went . . . .

Thanks to the internet, as with the estate probate, insurance,
and accounting, we were able to take care of the paperwork online.

On 24 June, the buyer accepted the house as is.
Kenosha Karma strikes again!

On 26 June, a mobile notary (yes, there is such a person)
came to our house and I signed all the paperwork.

On 2 July, payment was wired and the house was no longer mine.
I canceled house insurance, paid the last electric bill and that. was. that.
I've not had a moment of regret;
we have now purchased a home in Florida.
I think I realized that we had to be surounded by water,
not mountains and sand.

The same day, Bank of America sent me the money in the POD account
 that I'd been fighting with them about since 1 April.
Now THAT was stressful, but Kenosha Karma kame through again.

Later in July, the new owner traveled down from Oregon
to move into her new home.
I hope it will be a happy one for her.

In August, Diana sent this picture to show what I'm missing . . .

. . . but of course, this cliché says it all . . .

The Andreas Denninger Estate was closed on 5 September;
after one year, the state of Arizona will close its records.

And another chapter in my Book of Life finishes,
while a new one begins. As of this writing (24 September),
Neal is in Florida, looking at our new house.
After a winter like the one of 2013-2014,
with temperatures of -25, Florida is lookin' mighty good!

THE HOUSE SELLS AGAIN . . . HERE
