NOW PLAYING: THAT'S A MORAY (AMORE)

What's that gleam in a da reef?
With the bright shiny teef?
That's a moray.

DAY FIVE:
BACK IN THE WATER

WEDNESDAY, 18 JANUARY 2012

I got it sorted out on the dive interval;
there were some great eels & turtles on the second dive,
Round Bar Reef and the Friar's Craig shipwreck off
Asta Hotel - 30'-90 - A 70' long freighter, sunk on 2 July 1985
after ten years at anchor in Carlisle Bay.
This wreck has lots of bottom growth and
has broken into three pieces due to a lot of surge.

This wreck is just off the beach in front of our hotel

This little moray thinks he's found the perfect hiding spot.

Ph Ph

Yes, that's a toilet off the wreck in the sand.

Ph

This moray was very shy; he'd pop back into his burrow if I got too close.

Ph

In fact, the first time I saw him he dug the burrow deeper
and sand was just a-flyin' out of the hole.

We are adding two dives to our package for Friday
because we don't fly out on Saturday until 4 p.m.

We are going to take a short tour of the Island
(not the whole thing - about four hours),
then eat lunch and go directly to the airport.
