I sent a complaint, along with photos, to the store where I had bought her.
They in turn sent my complaint to the manufacturer,
who offered to replace her. Which they did,
and I didn't have to return the original.

Which meant, of course, that we had to take her apart
and completely redo the entire fountain. I procrastinated,
as this is a helluva job, and temperatures were in the high 90s.

It's a darn good thing I did, as insult was added to injury a month later. . .

THE BIRD GIRL IS DAMAGED

27 & 28 SEPTEMBER 2019

Due to a leak around the chimney (and age),
we decided to replace the entire roof, rather than just do a repair.

We used a roofing company that was highly recommended to us
by someone who had done excellent work for us.

There were MANY problems with this roofing company,
not the least of which was the mess they made and the damage they did,
first when they took off the old roof . . .

. . . and again when they put on the new roof . . .

The next day, I look out the window and see this . . .

After the roofing fiasco, we took the Girl out of the bowl . . .

. . . and discovered that her base had blistered also . . .

The mess left in the fountain bowl, including shingle sand . . .

. . . and the tar left on the Girl,
to forever remind me of the clusterf*ck this roofing job was . . .
