PH BLUEBIRD PH

Whilst I was working
on my computer this afternoon,
a bluebird came to take a bath
(on one of the colder days of January).

I didn't know if taking a photo thru a slider would work,
but I tried anyway (thank dog for digital cameras) . . .

The flash of my camera, even at this distance, frightened it away.

This is the third bluebird I've seen in Florida;
we really don't have a bluebird-friendly environment here in Tarpon Woods.
They like to be in tall grass areas to fill their nest boxes,
so I'm grateful for the sightings I do get.

As the poster above states,
Sometimes the Bluebird of Happiness is in Your Own Courtyard.

IT'S A PAIR!
4 FEBRUARY

This evening - when it was already too dark to take pics -
TWO bluebirds were on the bird bath; I assume/hope it's a pair.

An hour previously, however,
I photographed a mockingbird contemplating taking a bath . . .

. . . followed by an [unusually] alone cardinal actually taking one . . .

TRAIL CAMERA
5 FEBRUARY

At 11:00 a.m. (EST), Neal set up the trail cam to video the birdbath;
this will be a test to see how it works,
and we should see if anything uses the bath at night, too.
Sometimes, I fill the bird bath, and the next morning,
it's almost empty.
