There are many people I have worked with here at Reuther; some you can leave behind, and some leave you behind, and when they do you realize just how much they meant to you every day.

Bob, you have been one of those people to me for the past 14 years who I will really miss more than you can imagine. Who will deliver the life saving A-V equipment for cookies all the time on five-minutes notice, or manage the NCAA brackets with me - maybe someone else will finally win????
But what I will miss the most . . . little "Bobisms" that made me smile every time I would see you in the hall.
I realized something very important about eight years ago. I valued our friendship more than research projects for my classes; they never wanted to do them to start with so they would print 50 pages of unrelated materials just to get us banned from the Library.
I finally realized - why should they annoy both of us - this way I could still come escape to the Library and not find the door locked when I wanted to visit.

It was a nice escape from my classroom right across the hall until I knocked over your christmas tree you spent hours decorating - I still don't know why you put it outside that door - it was just to set me up so you could win!
You have always saved me when it came to the computers and iMovies which I will never forget, and probably never learn - letıs just call this retirement a "transition" - we can drop it in and you can "fade out" from the Reuther picture and "fade in" to a very happy and well-deserved retirement.
Congratulations & Best Wishes to someone who deserves
nothing but the best in life!
Love Ya

Uncle Bob -
I have only known you for a short time but you are one of my few email pals who always writes back to me, and the only guy who didn't question me at two months for my picks in the NCAA pool!
I will miss not getting the opportunity to see you as I grow up and run the halls & play in the gym at Reuther, but I know I will get to see "Uncle Bob" swimming in the pool and I will keep in touch - because I will need computer help from time to time too!
I hope you have a great time with no agenda to follow - let me know if you need help there . . . I'm great at having nothing planned and having full service 24-7, I just put on my hat and give you that look and I get anything - I hope you can have that when you retire, too!
Congrats, Uncle Bob
Love,
