THURSDAY, 13 JUNE

Boat leaves at 8 a.m.; have to be there by 7:45.

I'm thinking of not doing the night dive;
I had some gear issues on the last dive, and it's a long schlep
down to the boat and back. Boat leaves at 6:30 p.m., so I may change my mind.

Guide Diego blowing bubble rings (like smoke rings on land) down the reef.
He catches air from his regulator in his hand and makes a fist snapping out and down;
the disturbance in front and slightly below is ring.

[Appearance to the contrary, Diego is NOT resting his knees on the coral!]

I did not change my mind, and Dax the boat captain told Richard & me
that the manager would not let him take out the boat for one diver.
(Dave cancelled, too; he hurt his knee today on the dive ladder
getting out of the water and into the boat.)
I told Dax that I didn't understand;
the boat was paid for as one of our 12 dives in the package.
POLICY at Buddy Dive is if you miss a boat ride, too bad, so sad, no refunds.
So it made no difference if I was physically on the boat or not;
my spot and eight others were prepaid.

Dax talked with the manager who must have understood my point
and said Dax could go out with Diego & Richard,
but NEXT TIME he was giving him a night dive with 15 divers [joke].

So Richard had a night dive with a personal guide.
Couldn't beat that.
