2 MAY: HE RUNS!
For the first time, BB was running for the sake of running,
then did a bit of chasing SweeTea . . .
NOW maybe he'll lose a bit o' weight!!
4 MAY: POOR BB
We've had Noah-and-the-Ark style rain for 12 hours.
Even with the male wrap, BB's been dry.
I finally carried him to the (WET) grass, in rain, and he did it all . . .
been holding it since last night.
5 MAY: BB'S NEW "SAFE SPOT" . . .
. . . is inside my shower stall. Go figure . . .
he is the ONLY one of the dogs who has dared to venture in there,
and then stayed there.
He is doing a bit more running in the yard and the house,
and has a toy or two that he favors.
Of course, those are the ones the OTHERs also favor,
but that's par for the course and they do share.
He came on my bed sometime during the night and slept there
without falling off, so I guess that'll be his new sleeping spot.
IF SweeTea doesn't object, that is.
6 MAY: BB SPENT THE NIGHT ON MY PILLOW . . .
. . . all 21 pounds of him, around my head.
I'd had a tooth pulled yesterday and maybe he was just makin' sure I slept ok.
I HAVE TO ADMIT I HAD NO DREAMS FOR ONCE,
so maybe he's a dreamcatcher, too!
BB & DAISY2LEGS
I was redoing Daisy's bootie when the duct tape rolled off the table
and down the floor . . . BB fetched it and brought it back to me!
8 MAY: BB & ST
We've had a very small toy for quite some time called Blue Hippo;
it's one toy among many and SweeTea played with it
'cause it's more her size, at least when she first came here . . .
now she plays with toys that are bigger than SHE is.
Anyway, despite his size, Buster has decided this is HIS favorite toy -
so much so that I have to put it away at night or he chews on it in bed,
while I'm trying to sleep.
Today, what's left of Blue Hippo (he tore out all the stuffing)
is a toy for the two of them outside.
He and ST are chasing each other 'round the yard,
playing keep-away. She has it, he chases her; she 'loses' it
(I think intentionally); he grabs it and she chases him.
Now they are running without Blue Hippo,
just for the pleasure of running, I think.
And The Fun Police (Daisy2Legs) is sitting in a corner of the yard,
grumbling about it all. Heather is just waiting for someone to throw a ball,
anyone, any ball . . .
I'm so glad I had the yard sodded.
9 MAY
Buster at his leisure, watching Omar trim the palm tree
Work doesn't bother me; I can watch it for hours.
10 MAY
A sheepie SweeTea and I brought home; BB claimed it as his,
but I could see an altercation coming on, so I hid it away.
11 MAY
I gave them the sheepie outside, but ST wanted it and BB turned on her,
so I threw it away. They both got a talking-to about sharing.
11 MAY: CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS DOG!!!
At first, BB wanted NOTHING to do with crates;
I had to PUSH him in. Today, I told Heather KENNEL and
HE went right into the big crate!!
BB went out in the wet grass last night to retrieve his (SOAKED) Blue Hippo.
I watered the grass and didn't bring it in;
he waited 'til I turned off the sprinkler,
then went out to get it . . . he chewed and chewed it; nice and soggy.
Now he's fast asleep on the chair, with Blue Hippo in front of his nose.
