This past Saturday I took in two Cairns,
a nine- and a 10-year-old, from California.
They were owned by a senior couple who are recently retired,
have plans to travel, but are unwilling to include their lovely dogs in their plans.
Scooter & Rocky are currently being "biscuit & boarded"
by Karen Linfor of California, who recently adopted Emma.
Karen is also mom to human child Mark Brown,
partner of long-time CRUSA volunteer & flight attendant, Bill Schumacher.
The plan was for Bill & Mark to fly out to get both dogs
and bring them back in cabin. But "best laid plans,"
as we know sometimes go awry.

Bill's work schedule
will not allow him to travel
at all in June;
May flights are completely booked.
The situation is further complicated
by the fact that Karen
had been planning a trip
to Chicago on 8 June
and already has her tickets.
So we'll need
to move these boys to
their Midwest Foster Home
(Pat Frost of Illinois)
by 8 June and that
will be expensive,
to the tune of
$800 for the two.
