OTHER WILD LIFE IN THE SEA
1 APRIL 2013
|
Today is a big day . . . lots of dives. Weather has been beautiful;
we were told that last week it had been pretty windy,
which makes it choppy & difficult for getting back ON the boat;
getting off the boat, it doesn't matter,
nor does it matter once we're under the surface.
Conch, with trail/tracks behind it

Flame scallops

Lettuce-leaf slug
|
I think there are two flame scallops inside that hole.
They are bivalves and can move about.
Although their name would suggest otherwise,
flame scallops have no relation to scallops,
besides their exterior.
The flame scallop is found in the Caribbean Sea.
They are called flame scallops because their tentacles
are log flame red/orange

Big Eye (night/under overhang dweller);
unusual to be out in daytime . . .
something may have awakened and
spooked him out of his lair.

|
Scorpion fish under overhang . . . can you see it?
Can you see it now??
How 'bout now??
|
Leach-headed sea slug
(that's as big as they get)
|
A very elusive garden eel!
This is what they look
like underneath

A very "indigo" Indigo Hamlet
