CHARLIE GETS X-RAYED.
AGAIN

5 FEBRUARY 2014

In the middle of a blizzard,
Katie took Charlie for some more x-rays.

Katie writes:

Charlie went to the vet this morning for sedated x-rays and manipulation.
He did very well. The good news is the lower fractures
continue to heal well and it appears those should not require surgery.

Vet Tech Amanda holds Charlie, who is interested in EVERYthing

The bad news is Dr. C said it's too early to do surgery on the hip
and he needs to wait and continue with restriction
for three more weeks and then we will do surgery.
They will call me within the next day or so to schedule and
ensure I have continued medication for him until then.

Additionally, Dr. C noticed that Charlie had a mild yeast infection in his ear,
so that was treated today with medication that will last several weeks
and I don't need to do anything with his ears.

Back in "jail"

Once Charlie has surgery,
he will continue to be restricted for about two weeks following
and then Dr C said we need to start to push him.
I assume for PT purposes.
But as it stands now, the poor little pup has another five weeks
of restriction and confinement to his pens.
[And poor Katie has another five weeks
of standing outside with him in all weathers.]

NEWS ABOUT CHARLIE'S FUND

Jean's first grooming for CHARLIE'S FUND will be Saturday, 8 February.
You can see on the donors' list that several folks have seen Katie's flyers
(at Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, among others)
and stopped by THE HOUSE OF FAISON to donate.
Her customers, too, have donated when they see the flyer posted.
