And so it came to pass that on 26 December, Noelle & St. Nick - spayed, neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested and, in St. Nick's case, dreadlocks shaven off - were driven to Racine to join Pam Simpson's household.

Pam writes:

Nick has a very cute face . . . a squared-off nose. Noelle is the boss of the pair and tried to take over here already. I had to alpha roll her right away - she was picking at everyone. They were thrilled to be in the back yard. They both pee'd and poop'd. Nick was marking every bush and blade. There was a mark-off once he started!

I brought them in and put them in crates for a few minutes. They knew all about the door to the house, knew all about steps - both up & down - and seem quite familiar with being inside the house. I will not get to test fully until Steve gets home since Miss Noelle is going to be a sassy pants. He is due back in the PM tomorrow.

But we are all here at any rate. That Nick is just one very handsome dude - looks better than his first photos. I think that Miss Sassy Pants will be a beauty too once she is trimmed up. I have an appointment for Molly on Thursday - I might call to see if she can take Noelle, too.

I do believe they are mother & son. He is a BIG baby - I suspect she has kept him that way. They know how to walk on lead and know what a harness is. They know what balls are - I threw some, they went and got them and did not bring them back - just like my dogs do.

This little girl is truly an escape artist. I had to come upstairs to spend a little time cleaning up the kitchen from dinner and to say hello to my own pack. Harley & I went down to check on them and no NOELLE. I call for her, but since she does not know that is her name, she did not answer to it. I look behind me and there she & Harley are standing together . . . probably laughing their little doggie behinds off at the fool. I told her she needs to quit doing that - she still has stitches. So I am putting them both in crates whenever I have to come upstairs for something. Once I have the kitchen all done, Harley & I will go downstairs and sit with them all the rest of the evening.

Nick is a love bug. He is downstairs now and not screaming for the first time. I had to crate her so I could come upstairs - she climbs ANYTHING you put there. She just JUMPED over the regular baby gate. This girl does need to do agility! She is a natural.

They are pottying when we go outside and so far as I know, neither has pottied in the house.

They are doing just fine. Once Steve got home we could let them both loose and any issues were quickly forgotten. Harley is now doing the playbow in front of Noelle to try to get her to play.

They are still doing very well with their potty habits. She is perfect. He has attempted to mark a couple of things in the house. I tell him to stop and he does. He let me hold him on my lap last night on his back in my arms. Does that sound like a Daddy's boy to you?

If anyone is looking for a dog to do agility, Noelle is the one! She has no fear and will climb on ANYTHING. Of course, she can also escape from any fence so will need watching.
