CoCo had his vet visit today with Dr. Hansen,
who did a derm ear/skin cytology & a skin scrape.
I am to continue giving CoCo a bath every three days
with Malaseb shampoo and use a new ear medicine
called Posatex twice a day for 24 days.
I no longer have to wash the entire ears out every three days,
but do need to keep it clean & dry around the ear area
then just apply the new ear drops.
His ear canals are still swollen & red.
CoCo is now on an oral antibiotic called Simplicef,
one tablet a day for 35 days.
This antibiotic only needs to be given once a day
and is not hard on the stomach.
I am to keep feeding him sweet potato & fish dog food,
and come back in six weeks for a re-check.
Dr. Hansen said that starting at the beginning of May,
if it is an environment allergies like grasses, trees, etc.,
I will see Coco having skin issues starting around that time frame.
