COOKIE HAS CATARACT SURGERY 8 FEBRUARY 2021

At 5:30 p.m., Shell writes: Just picked up Cookie; all went very well. CLICK ON THE PIC ABOVE TO PLAY A VIDEO OF COOKIE AT THE VET Cookie's cataract was actually more "mature" than originally thought. It was a "hypermature" cataract, which is a cataract in which the lens cortex has begun to liquefy and resorb. The success rate is slightly less for hyper cataracts (85% vs. 95%), but Dr. Czepiel said Cookie looks great. The vision tests they did right after she woke up from anesthesia showed that she is seeing! Now we have to keep her quiet and calm for the next couple of weeks to make sure the replacement lens stays intact. All great news. I take her in for a recheck at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
