WHY CAIRN TERRIERS?
I love my Cairns because they are so full of personality in a cute little package. They are independent to an extent, yet when they are done playing and exploring, they are ready to cuddle on the couch. For the most part, they are smart little dogs that train easily and are eager to please.

WHEN DID YOU BEGIN FOSTERING?
I picked up our first foster, KoKo, on December 10, 2006. He was a six-year-old owner surrender from Indianapolis, Indiana. I was an hour late due to the time difference; he was tied up outside the house with his belongings. | |
His family didn't come out to say good-bye. KoKo jumped in the car and never looked back; I cried the entire way home that a family could own a dog for six years and not even want to say good-bye.

WHY? or HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
We had Ben, our first Cairn, whom we did not get through rescue. I would frequently look on Petfinder.com for a second Cairn, but ended up finding Wrigley in the newspaper. I kept going back to Petfinder.com, where I noticed that every Cairn I was drawn to was listed through a group called CRUSA. I finally clicked on the link to learn more about the organization and applied to foster.
