THE STORY OF KYLIE & ASHLEY
[Kylie & Ashley were part of CRUSA's THORP AUCTION2
We recently celebrated the day they came into our lives,
Ky & Ash, getting ready for their first Halloween
The first few months with them were tough; they weren't house-trained, they had never walked on grass, or played outside, for that matter . . . they really didn't know how to be puppies! So we treated them like you would a puppy even though they were two years old. It took a while to house-train them, but eventually they started following the Venegas Pack outside.

Kylie was very protective of Ash; she didn't want anyone to go near her, and poor Ash was so shy, she just hid behind furniture, so I started with Ky by just picking her up and holding her on my lap in the recliner, petting her, talking to her and reassuring that her life was going to be better and that she didn't have to protect Ash anymore, that was now our job. |

And Art would coax Ash out and hold her, till finally they would respond to us but to no one else; they were very protective - almost mean - if anyone else came into the house.
It took almost seven months before they relaxed and figured out that this was their home and we could be trusted.
Kylie has given up control of Ash and now she is my protector & shadow, and as for Ash, she's a definite Daddy's Girl!

Life is good now for all of us; the Venegas Pack of Four gets along fine. They all have their pecking order, and they all have a very special place in our hearts!
