We got our "canine fix" with some Habana "street dogs".

CUBA

Though they are not "owned" by any one person,
their cards/I.D.'s prove they are under care and
have been vetted and get food and water.

Plaza de la Catedral (Cathedral Square), Old Havana plaza,
contains a Baroque 1770s cathedral, the Colonial Art Museum
& cafeé tables.

Originally a swamp, it was later drained and used as a naval dockyard.
Following the construction of the Cathedral in 1727,
it became the site of some of the city's grandest mansions.
It is the site of the Museo del Arte Colonial (Colonial Art Museum)
and a number of restaurants.

One of the buildings on the Plaza
is the Palacio del Conde Lombillo,
in front of which is a statue of the
flamenco dancer, Antonio Gades.

The residence where the Pope will reside on his upcoming trip to Cuba.

Pope Francis will be the third consecutive leader of the
Roman Catholic Church to visit Cuba. St. John Paul II
stopped there for several days in 1998, and Pope Benedict XVI
visited for three days in 2012. Church officials in Havana said
tthey expect Francis' visit to be shorter than those of his predecessors.
There is a podium being constructed in Revolution Square,
being carried out by a brigade from the Metal Productions Enterprise,
including a main stand for the Pope, two platforms for reporters
and another one for the choir and an orchestra,
as well as the sacristy where the Pope will prepare his mass on 20 September.
