Daisy was an owner surrender who came into CRUSA on 19 June
and was placed in a home in Illinois as a foster-to-adopt.
It did not work out due to her behavior/barking;
she was moved to the only other foster home with no other pets,
located in Michigan, where it was determined that she may have a luxating patella,
arthritis of a rear knee or something else.
She has been seen by a vet and put on pain meds;
an ortho vet in the area has been consulted.
The second foster home asked that she be moved due to vacation plans
that we were unaware of when she was placed there;
now we are so fortunate that she is being taken in by a professional trainer
who will evaluate her behavior and leg issues
and try to determine if pain is the cause her aggression issues.
Our friend to CRUSA, Megan Slattery from Michigan
('Dorothy' at 2010 Pet Expo),
worked hard to get this arranged for Daisy;
from past experience with this trainer,
we are hoping for great results in getting this little girl ready
for her forever home, both physically & mentally.
We are looking at daily expenses with the trainer,
current vet bills and possible surgery in the near future.
