My Mother's Mother, Maria Dondorp,
came for a visit in, I believe, 1959 . . .
COMMENTARY:
* This restaurant still exists
. . . she visited my fourth-grade class . . .
COMMENTARY:
I can still remember this student's name . . . Gene Schnaare; our teacher's name was Miss Goodnature.
. . . enjoyed our "wild" backyard
. . . taught me how to play Solitaire at this picnic table . . .
COMMENTARY:
Flipflops, back in 1959 - what was old is new again!
. . . and has her hair done with the most modern of appliances,
accompanied by our Wire Fox Terrier, Janna
COMMENTARY:
* Janna was kidnapped and we paid a ransom. My Mother & I had a real adventure in Zion, Illinois to get her back
