COMMENTARY:

* Capri pants & flipflops . . . what could be more modern?

* I can still remember how excited they were about these sweaters, because gold threads were interwoven in the fabric . . . the new synthetics.

* My Mother truly had a 'green thumb'; she worked hard in her gardens in all her homes . . . her plants thrived, indoors & outdoors, full of color & life, just as she was.

* One Winter, my Mother decided to make an ice-skating rink for me at the bottom of this yard . . . she pulled the hose out into the yard; she shoveled banks around the rink; and I skated on it in all my lonesome glory. Perhaps she thought I would be another Hans Brinker? I remembered to thank her for doing this during one of my visits to her in the Nursing Home.
