DOC HOLLIDAY GOES HOME! 25 AUGUST 2010
Doc knows that somethin's up Anita writes: We had a very nice visit with Teresa yesterday when we met her at Howard's General Store in Glendo, Wyoming (half-way between Denver & Thermopolis) to deliver Doc to her. It was a long day but very enjoyable; we shed some tears on the way home, too. Aren't we supposed to? Teresa was very nice and was very pleased with Doc. She is taking him to her vet this morning, still VERY worried about the whip worm situation. We feel she will be an excellent mom for Doc; he will have a wonderful home, and will probably be a very spoiled little guy. On the way down, Doc rested his head on the console between us (he was tethered to the back seat and couldn't go any farther). We think he knew something was up, because he was very clingy the last day or two. We have decided Cairns are very smart dogs, but you all already knew that, didn't you? We are looking forward to the next "western foster".

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed, All nicely tucked in my warm new bed. I'd like to open my baggage Lest I forget, There is so much to carry - So much to regret. Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top - Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss, And there by my leash hide Fear and Shame. As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave - I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain. I loved them, the others, the ones who left me, But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me. Will you add to my baggage? Will you help me unpack? Or will you just look at my things And take me right back? Do you have the time to help me unpack? To put away my baggage, To never re-pack? I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see, But I do come with baggage - Will you still want me? -- Evelyn Colbath
