EMMIE AT THE VET
29 MARCH 2016
(THINGS AREN'T ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM. PT 2 . . .)

Ph

It's only been a day and a half
and things have beeen going well.
Today, I met the family & Emmie
at Animal House Veterinary Clinic;
Dr. Peter Ammon gave Emmie
a thorough going over.

There are some issues
that must be addressed.

Although Emmie's owner
brought her UTD at our request,
Emmie's teeth are horribly dirty.

Ph

I'm sorry my breath is so bad, Doc, but no one ever brushed my teefers!

In addition, she has a very bad bladder infection
which Dr. Ammon suspects is due to her filthy teeeth.

Ph

Of more concern is "something" in the bladder that is visible in the ultrasound,
but Dr Ammon believes that it will likely disappear
with a dental and round of antibiotics.

Ph

Dr. Ammon feels a dental is urgent,
so we're having it done on Monday, 4 April.

On 30 March comes the bad news . . .

Bloodwork came back and Emmie has elevated liver values
and elevated kidney values. For now, dental is canceelled
and we're keeping her on antibiotics for two weeks.

Best case scenario: The lousy kidney & liver values are due
to the bad teeth and her next bloodwork will be much better.

Worst case scenario: Her values stay high and then we have to move on
to the next step . . . ultrasound to find out what's going on.

MAUREEN SCOTT
In Canada, of AIRECANADA:
Poor little Emmie! But at least she's in a home where she will have
companionship, love and all the best an old girl could want.

Anim

NEAL SKRENES:
Now you find out THE REAL REASON she gave up the dog.
High medical bills - hopes that someone else will do what she won't.
Hope it works out well, but waiting is all that can be done right now.

Anim

ELAINE ALGER:
I just read this story and that woman should hang her head in shame.
As a lover of the old ones, I just cannot imagine the loss this dog must feel.
Hopefully, she will be in a good place until she must continue her journey.
