If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain does keep me from my sleep,

For this - the last battle - can't be won.
You will be sad I understand
But don't let grief then stay your hand.

We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.

Take me to where my needs they'll tend,

In Memory of my first rescue 'dale, CALAH
|
CALAH left us all too soon on 18 March 2013. She really was a sweetie. Happy.
We rescued her when she was four. I have had her litter mate
since she was seven weeks old and we rescued another litter mate.
Calah was living in an outdoor pen of mud; she crawled out
from under a dog house. Scared of rain & storms.
She was diagnosed 3.5 years ago with congestive heart failure.
We managed her as best we could until we had to let her go in March at almost 11 yrs old.

and take care of dogs after a hurricane!/STRONG>
Joey & Marti, along with several other Airedalers,
went to New Orleans to help the many dogs made homeless
by Hurricane Katrina. See their story HERE
