RUDY
Joey is a wonderful woman. She is responsible for bringing us Rudy,
who has brought us more love & joy than we ever thought possible.

RUDY sez: Here's another BIGNOSEPOKE for Joey to get well!

SANDY
This donation comes with fond memorys of MOLLY, DUKE, MONTY, OLLIE & SAMANTHA.
Joey has given so much to these dogs.
|
Sandy was a stray who couldn't ask for a better home:
Summers in North Jersey at a marina on a lake and winters in Florida.
This photo of Sandy was taken at our Florida apartment.
He sports a bandaged tail with open cyst which was removed by Dr. Kathy
when we got back up North this summer, after all else failed.

CATHY & JOHN ZETTLER
TEDDY & JAZZ
Although we don't have a rescue Airedale, we know Joey as our groomer.
Our poor JAZZ had a rough few years with grooming -
one time with haunches that made her look part poodle,
and another with front legs looking like an afghan -
not what a regal Airedale deserves. Finally, through Joey,
JAZZ looked the way she should have all along. We were very grateful!
We were also impressed with all the time, effort, money & love she put into rescue Dales.
I always loved seeing them when I would take JAZZ and then Welsh Terrier TEDDY up for a grooming.
The greeting from all those Airedales was wonderful.
We are so glad there are people like Joey in this world to look after those that are so special..

PHOEBE & SIR LANCELOT
I have had seven wonderful Airedales in my life. Four of them were placed with me through Joey.
They have all been a perfect match. Our current airedale, SIR LANCELOT, is a love,
but like any Airedale, he does have his mischievous side.
He kept getting into the pantry (to shop) and going down into the basement
when no one was looking. So, we set up a camera to film him.
He examined the camera sitting on a stool from many angles before going for the door.
Then, lo and behold he was able to open the door using his snout & paws.
We confirmed our suspicion that he was the bandit eating the crackers, Twizzlers,
and cereal from the pantry and leaving a mess on the floor.
Thanks to Joey, we have had wonderful companions & playmates for ourselves & our children.

CONNIE McCARTHY PEARSON
In Memory of Ben McCarthy
I was so sorry to hear about Joey. My father, Ben McCarthy,
was very active in Airedale rescue, and a great admirer of Joey and her work.
I would like Joey to know that my donation comes from my father (@RB)
as well as from me, because I know he would be so concerned for her.
I hope things are going well now, and that recovery will be steady.
I know all her four-legged therapists will be with her all the way!

ROBIN & CHRIS COLMAN
In Memory of ZOE
Thank you so much for all the wonderful work you are doing to help Joey
with your donations, prayers & hard work.
|
Robin & I are among the many people
whose lives have been touched by Joey
and her ministry for Airedales,
most recently by the companionship of ZOE,
whose love & affection I was
most certainly not worthy of having.
After a long & brave fight
against many problems & illnesses,
ZOE passed away peacefully in our arms
on 5 July 2013, at age 12-3/5.
We had only hoped for one last trip
to Maine with her snuggled in our bed,
snoring happily. But it was not to be.
We thank Joey & all of you in Airedale Rescue for ZOE's
life, love & spirit: Kind, gentle, fun & full of life
in the way that makes Airedales so special.
She was a great wit, counter surfer
& aficionado of lobster & steak,
which sustained her in the last few months.
We are bereft and ask for your prayers
for our beloved ZOE.
This is a 2008 picture from Joey's house,
when we both fell immediately in love with ZOE
after showing us she could steal a biscuit
with the best of them.
Five years went by so fast and we miss her so.
We were privileged for her company
and hope to be as lucky in the future.
I know you all will continue to look
for ways to help Joey & her mission;
it is so important to the dogs &
to the people they come to love.

IF I SHOULD GROW FRAIL
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain does keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done
For this - the last battle - can't be won.
You will be sad I understand
But don't let grief then stay your hand.
For on this day, more than the rest
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end.
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must now be you
Who has to decide this thing to do.
We've been so close - we two - these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

RUSTY LaFRANCE & CREW:
Our heart & thoughts are with you.
Know that she will stay by your side until she knows
you are okay - it is the Airedale way.
They always touch our hearts and never stay long enough,
but because of them, our hearts are larger and we know more & care more.
ZOE had a long & wonderful life and her memories are the ones from you.
Thank you for being there for ZOE.
DEB CIANCARELLI:
My heartfelt condolences to you & Robin.
Yes, five years is just a blip of time, but know that to ZOE, it was her entire world.
Thank you for adopting her and for everything you & Robin do for Rescue.
The last line of your note says it all: Our shared mission is important;
we will continue to help Joey & Airedales across the country.
So very sorry for your loss.
KATHY ENOS:
So sorry . . . . Bless you both for giving ZOE a wonderful home.
I'm always happy & humbled at all the loving
Airedale people out there to help our Airedales in Need.
