	SHIRLEY RYAN In Memory of BUFFY, PRECIOUS, TOBY, JAKE & ROSIE I wish Joey the very best in her recovery. She obviously has need of help and friends far & wide to help her achieve her recovery.
BUFFY, 1976 . . . . . . and 1977 My husband & I first met Joey in the mid 1970's when we adopted our first Aire, PRECIOUS. Prior to adopting Aires, we had an Old English Sheep Dog named BUFFY. PRECIOUS, Autumn 1998 We met Joey through a mutual friend. Our subsequent adoptions were TOBY . . . TOBY, 1999 . . . and then JAKE . . . . JAKE, December 2002 When JAKE had to be put down in 2008, my husband wanted to keep his ashes so they could be buried with one of us - the first one to pass. PRECIOUS & TOBY's ashes are buried in our backyard. Little did we realize that my husband would be the first to pass, in September 2009. I was devastated, as all widows are. A month after his death, I contacted Joey and adopted ROSIE. She was my life saver. What a wonderful Aire. I do believe that ROSIE was an Angel sent to help me with my grief. When I would have a meltdown from one of my crying spells, ROSIE would come to me and put her head in my lap, as if to say, Don't cry, I'm here with you. ROSIE, November 2009 All to soon, she left me in December 2012. I doubt I will be able to adopt another Aire; how I wish I could. With each of the adoptions, Joey was there for us, but especially so for the Aires. She has done so much to rescue them and to find them good families who will love them. Each one had his/her own personality and each one endeared him/herself to us. They brought so much joy to us - they were our children in every sense of the word.
