For several reasons, the Dog Beach at Clearwater isn't practical for us:
1) It's a 45-minute drive to get there, and back;
2) The walk from the parking lot to the beach,
and from the beach to the water, would be impossible
for Daisy, Rosie & me; Neal would have to put us in a cart
and he, Rico & Heather would have to pull us.
THAT ain't gonna happen;
4) From what I've learned about Clearwater;
much - if not most - of the city is owned by
The Church of Scientology, including its police force.
If we had to buy ANYthing there,
even something to eat or drink, we'd be putting money
into the pockets of this cult and its leader, David Miscavige,
to which I strenuously object.
More's the pity, as this is JUST the kind of beach
I'd imagined for us to frolic in the water & sand . . .
So it looks like Crystal Beach will be "our" dog beach,
at least while we still live in Palm Harbor
(which, BTW, has NO BEACH ACCESS of its own;
all the oceanfront is developed).
DAISY2LEGS FINDS SOMETHING TO HUNT
It isn't a lizard, however; it is the biggest d*mn palmetto bug
we've seen yet; big enough to put a saddle on.
We won't let her catch it, so for the rest of the night -
and for several days thereafter - she is CONVINCED it is still there
(or maybe others; she isn't fussy about what/whom she kills.)
Whaddya mean, it's gone?
Now, you KNOW I have a strong prey drive, and nothing to hunt.
Next time, let ME catch it, OK?
COME OUT, COME OUT, WHEREVER YOU ARE!
I can wait forever, or until our next meal is served, whichever comes first.
BATHROOM FIXTURES REPLACED
Both bathrooms now have brushed nickel sink fixtures;
Neal's tub fixtures were also replaced.
They are all supposedly spot-resistant;
we shall see how they perform with Florida water.
This dispenser set, with starfish on it, jumped into my shopping cart
many weeks ago, and is finally out of storage.
