FIRST VISITORS FROM WISCONSIN 4 JUNE 2015
The dogs' groomers, Gary & Jean Rozinski, happened to be in the neighborhood and stopped by . . .
Of course, we go to FlapJack's . . . . . . and no, I'm not falling asleep . . .
5 JUNE Today, I spend three hours at the vet with Rosie, who refuses to eat and is walking in a "C" form. X-rays show that she has some compressed areas in her spine, right where she is bending. We go home with painkillers, prednisone & anti-nausea pills. She finally eats one of her every-two-hours mini-meals. I go for lunch, and my bridge breaks. In the same mall as the Palm Harbor Vet Clinic is a dentist/orthodontist, featuring "$29 Walk-In Emergency Visit". So I walk in. Can't get an appointment or anything done 'til Monday, the receptionist tells me. Use some Fixodent or something. Sure thing, I thought - your waiting room is empty, there isn't a car besides my own in your parking lot . . . you don't need the business, it's Friday afternoon and everyone's already celebratin' the weekend. OK, give me the earliest Monday appt. you have - 8 a.m. Fine. Just hope that it doesn't come off while I'm sleeping and I choke on it or swallow it! Fill out the forms now, she suggests, so you'll be in the system. I do so. Do you pronounce your name ANdrea or AnDRAYa, she asks me. AnDRAYa, I reply SO DO I, she yells. I have an accent acute on the 'e', I tell her. SO DO I, she yells. THEN SHE SAYS: I'll go talk to the doctor and see if she can do something for you right now. So, I get an exam, x-rays, bridge cleaning, tooth cleaning and bridge temporary fastening (for only $44, I might add) . . . instead of stressing all weekend about this stupid thing coming off while I'm eating or sleeping. Was it 'cause my name and hers are pronounced the same? I mean, what is the likelihood of THAT happening??? (Unfortunately, there is a LOT of dental work that has to be done before a new bridge can be put in. I know what I'll be doing for the next few weeks.)
