Just wanted to let you know that Fergus may end up with his own oeuvre of tales.
Last Saturday night, when I brought all three dogs home from a visit with Fergus' potential forever family, after taking off their harnesses & leashes, Fergus, as usual, went into hiding. I found him, picked him up, and started out of the room to take him upstairs. In doing so, I managed to trip on a baby gate which was leaning on his crate. As I watched the terrazzo floor coming toward me in amazingly slow motion, I tried to hold onto him to keep him from flying through the air and being hurt. I managed to do that until just before the floor and my right arm (you know, the one on which I had surgery a few weeks ago) made their introductions.
Fergus, unharmed but scared, ran away and hid. Kizzie & Joey came charging back into the room to see what excitement they were missing. I lay on the floor, staring up into their curious faces, thinking that no good could come of this. I suppose it could have been worse. My arm is fractured, but my spirits are high!
I do so love fostering.
