LACEY CROSSES
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

1 SEPTEMBER 2011

Judy Domm writes:

My dear little girl, Lacey, passed away last night.
She got sick around 6 p.m.; 20 minutes later, she was gone.
I was carrying her downstairs to the
emergency vet when she died in my arms.

Considering the first five horrible years of her life,
she turned into a sweet, trusting, much-loved furry family member.

Leo & I miss her so much.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together . . .

Gr

SHELLY SIMINSKI:
I am so sorry about Lacey. My prayers are with her family. God bless them all.

Gr

MARSHA AARONS:
I'm so sorry to hear about your beautiful sweet girl. She was taken too soon but she learned from you that the world wasn't filled with evil. She crossed the bridge knowing what love and kindness were. We fostered and then adopted Duffy who was part of the same rescue mission as Lacey. They sure do leave huge holes in our heart when they go.

Gr

CHARLOTTE ANDERSON:
I'm so sorry to hear about Lacey. I know what a good life she had with you and how much a part of your life she has been.

Gr

JANE SMITH:
I am so sorry to hear Lacey is no longer with you. But what a blessing to know she was surrounded by love when she crossed The Rainbow Bridge. You showed her that life could be good and filled with love & happiness.

Thank you for everything you did for her.

Gr

JULIA BAYER:
You made Lacey's heart so happy and gave her tons of love. My heart goes out to you.

Gr

BETTE BOYERS & DEB SCHEURING:
Sending out prayers for Judy. Lacey felt love in her life.

Gr

TONI, MIKE & SAMMY BONNEY:
Judy & Leo . . . We are thinking about you two & Lacey. So sad. The hardest part of making a difference in her life.

I wish all those guys GREAT LIVES! Thanks for all you do.

I thought you would want to see another Friday the 13th rescue girl, Olivia the Wire-Haired Fox Terrier. I pulled her from a local shelter and handed her off to Schnauzer/Fox Terrier Rescue of Florida. They have pulled several Airedales for us, so I was only too glad to help!

She's only ten pounds, the tiniest adult WFT I could ever imagine!

Friday

Evie calls this "Rescue Without Borders" . . . helping each other's breed rescues with transport, fostering & donations wherever possible.
