I thought this was MacIain but on closer inspection it's Annie; sometimes even I confuse the two of them. We put a yellow disc on Annie so the caregivers could tell them apart and that way they would always check for two dogs in the house rather than the same one twice |

Annie thinks this is her best side.

Well, I managed to take MacIain to and collect him from the vet without incident yesterday, but I would much rather have been dragged up the street in my high heels. I have to wait another week for a specialist to look at the x-rays. His blood test showed his cholesterol to be at the top of the scale; this could be hypothyrodism, pancreaitis, something else sounding just as scary, or stress. If he's in pain with his leg then I like to think it's stress or even just because he's a cheeseaholic, but I will find out in a week or so.
The poor boy is so lethargic he can hardly lift his tail to wag it and his ears are hanging at the side of his head like wet washing. I'm not to do anything but give him lots of cuddles and no exercise till the results are back; looks like I will get more exercise pacing up & down.
The vet said MacIain was very overweight 30.6kg (68pounds); he should be 25kg (55pounds), so he's been putting weight on at roughly a pound a week since he was last at the vet. He was only 28kg this time last year and I cut his food down then because the vet said he was overweight.
Annie is not so happy because he won't run & play with her and of course all her tidbits have been suspended as well.
