So on 13 January, Shell reports:
The Missouri dogs are in.
Keena - with Shell tonight . . . going to Marge tomorrow
A HUGE thanks to Scott & Greg for making this transport in some truly crappy weather (and getting back in record time), and also for helping Papillon Rescue transport a couple of their little dogs back.
KEENA OVERNIGHTS IN ILLINOIS WITH SHELL & JIM
Scott & Greg hand over Keena
She's a sweetheart. Very friendly . . . very snuggly. LIke the other three girls, incredibly stinky and I've never seen such horrible mats in my life. Their coats almost look "feral". Even their heads are matted.
I worked on her two hours with a brush. Marge worked on her another three hours today and Marge's daughter is grooming her tomorrow.
She climbs stairs (but doesn't come down).
Beautiful girl and with the darkest eyes I've ever seen and little black "eyebrows" over her eyes. She went to the vet today and was very good-natured there.
The mill dogs are all horribly filthy (Dr. T was going to get them groomed yesterday but because of the ice storm, the groomers closed early.) I have Keena and she will need to be shaved down. She is matted virtually on every part of her body. All the mill dogs are sweet as can be.
She "gets" toys.
