I have an excellent applicant for a dog and they live in Thermopolis, Wyoming. It's near absolutely nothing. I hunkered down this morning with their app to try and find someone to do the home visit. Hit gold the first time. Called the "local" humane society (an hour away) and they put me in touch with a man in "Thermop", as the locals call it and he's going to go to their home tonight. I'm pretty psyched.
This couple moved to the middle of nowhere and built a log home on 20 acres, two of which are fenced. They're seniors and the husband is a retired geologist. I've matched them to Muriel in St. Louis. When I asked them if they intended to fly to get her, they said, "No, we'll just drive there." They actually built their log home themselves.
On 9 April, Anita & Clair Adams of Thermopolis, Wyoming, who drove 1,225 miles to get little Niko, sent these pictures. Niko is shown here with her new Cairn brother & feline sister! Each photo is worth, as they say, 1,000 words, so I'll let them speak for themselves:
