GIZMO IN WISCONSIN
11 JANUARY 2014
|
|
On 6 January, across the
CRUSA Intakes List came
this message from the
Kankakee County Animal Control:
This dog came to us as a stray,
friendly, healthy, but did not pass
our behavior assessment.
Could you please contact us
and we will explain details.
I do believe he is purebred.
I feel his best chance is with
a responsible rescue
that can work with him.

On 11 January, Shell Lewis writes:
Gizmo was picked up as as stray
by Kankakee County [Illinois]
Animal Control.
He was almost certainly
owned by a family.
as he seems to know
basic commands like "sit" & "stay".
He is "all Cairn boy".
He's sweet but sassy.
He has a voice and likes to use it.
He walks boldly on a leash
and pulls forward with great energy.
At the vet's office,
he whined & lunged
at all the other dogs,
but it appeared that
he wanted to interact playfully.

The shelter surrendered him
to us because he's
food aggressive and growls
when he plays with toys.
But he got along well with
most of the other dogs in the shelter.
Gizmo is estimated to be
around five years old,
but I have a feeling
he might be a little younger.

Gizmo is currently at Naperville Animal Hospital
where he will be neutered and brought UTD.

A big thanks to Barb Miller, our transport coordinator,
for pulling together a great team of volunteers who are
getting Giz to his foster home in Wisconsin.
That team includes Sarah Kantar, Amie Conley, Amber Rich
and of course foster mom, Colleen Swartz.
Also thank you to Shannon Radosevich for her usual
fabulous job of coordinating Gizmo's vetting.
