Met a nice young man who just got certified.
He & his wife are here from New York,
but had two flights out canceled.
They are here until Monday (no one flies out on Sunday).
Doesn't know where they will stay.
He's a writer (self-employed);
she works for a law firm and hopes they will be understanding.
Or that she can telecommute until they get home.
[Due to the MidWest storm, and the upcoming NorthEast storm,
many flights have been canceled, which of course has
a ripple effects all over the US, and the world.]
Barber pole shrimp at Purple Rain
Having minor learning curve issues with the new camera set up.
It wants to autofocus, but is taking many unfocused shots.
Also having overexposure problems with the strobes.
Will try different settings tomorrow.
VERY HAPPY with the new fisheye lens.
Ocean triggerfish at Purple Rain
They did an afternoon dive on the Bianca C,
and it was daunting for them. They claimed everyone
came up with ~50 pounds of air in their tanks (not a good thing).
Should end with 200-300 pounds (low air).
If this is true, no one was monitoring his/her own air,
and depending on the Dive Master to keep them safe.
They should have headed for the surface at 600-700,
done a safety stop and gotten out with
a couple of hundred pounds in their tanks.
I've been ending most of my dives due to time (50 min)
and other divers being out of air -
with right around 1000 pounds
(700 is "low air - need to stop" limit).
