HARRY'S NEW LIFE IN PICTURES 6 NOVEMBER 2012
Melissa Murphy writes: Harry has a new back yard, which he loves to explore. And now that he can see properly, he runs ALL OVER!!!
And when he's done running & exploring every squirrel, bird & blade of grass . . .
. . . he sits back and surveys his kingdom from the covered porch, which he loves, unless it's raining.
Shelter is good, but he doesn't like the noise of thunder, or rain on the tin roof. But he still loves to snuggle on the porch swing, whether there's noise or not! Harry has almost stopped snapping at food or treats, though we're still working on it a little bit. He will gently take treats from an opened palm and has been great with all the kids (and adults) we've encountered on neighborhood walks or other outings.
	He was excited about the outside from Day 1, but it took him a while to get interested in inside toys or diversions. Now he plays with one of those super- long squeaky dogs that is longer than he is, and several smaller toys - if it squeaks, he's happy - but he'd still rather be outside or cuddling.
He still barks at trucks, motorcycles and thunder, and is incredibly grumpy when startled from a nap. There's some serious grumbling that goes on, but all it takes to brighten his disposition is the promise of "out" or "walk" or "toy" - then he's all tail wags again. We go on road trips (so far no more than a few hours) and he loves it. The harness doesn't slow him down at all - he's constantly staring out the window, tail wagging in excitement, until he tires himself out with all the looking and curls up on the seat to nap. So far he's the perfect traveling companion!
	And last but not least, this is Harry's comfy spot. He's either here, curled up in front of the fireplace, lounging on his GIANT dog pillow in the cooler kitchen, or stretched out at my feet on the couch. It's a comfy existence, and a great life. Happy us.
