The next morning, Neal called me at 5:15 a.m. to let me know they were leaving, half an hour early . . . it's fun to watch the FAA flight map online to see just exactly where the plane is, and to be emailing with him while he's on the plane. There is no such thing as a true "vacation" anymore.
The flight went smoothly; stop in Atlanta, then on to Roatan . . . the 2010 Honduras trip was on the Island of Roatan (sorry, I never did that website); this year, they are going to an even smaller island, Utila.
And the question on everyone's mind is, of course,
One word: Whale Sharks . . .
Although it is a shark, it is a filter feeder, not carnivorous, so it is relatively safe to swim with them. Full information can be found HERE. Utila is one of the places noted for their presence; TEAM MANTA hopes to swim with some, or one, as the case may be.
