A drone shot of just our area of Tarpon Woods . . .

Our house is circled. Most of the houses around us were empty,
but we and three other families (next door to us,
Marie & Patrick across the street, and their neighbor) stayed.
Of course, those who left couldn't get back in for almost a week.

From 3:13 to 3:50, you can see an army green truck on the left side of the screen.
If you had to go somewhere, you could call the Sheriff's Department to send out this truck,
which would then bring you to the mini-mall at the Tarpon Woods entrance.
From there, you could call an Uber, a Lyft, etc., to take you wherever you needed to go.

As Publix is only five minutes away, and no one here knew if the entire mall had flooded or not,
this did not make much sense to me, but we saw several trucks full of people drive by.
Reminded me of M*A*S*H, or any other Army show will trucks full of evacuees.

A fire department truck also passed thru the area to do wellness checks;
the fireguys told us it would be DAYS before Brooker Creek went down enough
to clear the streets.

And yes, Tarpon Woods is under threat of having the golf course
developed, thus increasing the flooding. This was a once-in-seven-years flood,
but will become more common if the planned development is approved.

Some folks in TW who have lived here for 50 years or more have said they've NEVER
had flooding like this; it is the first we've experienced in the seven years we've lived here.

WE HAVE NO ELECTRICITY.
