Midday Sunday, as the fog lifted, Lizzie & I trooped off to the nearby old city of New Westminster to visit Irving House. Irving House was built during the early 1860's and still exists much in the way it did at that time. It's full of furnishings & antique gadgets (like the original vacuum cleaner that one was obliged to pump to create the sucking power). We were the only visitors and so had both docents to ourselves. They told us great stories and offered tons of information.
We couldn't photograph Lizzie inside because it was very dark but here she is, standing on the porch by the elaborate front door!
When we returned from our historical foray, we decided some exercise & fresh aire were definitely in order. Off we went with Murphee to Rocky Point, a marina & park down on the inlet off Port Moody.
The sun did finally make an appearance . . . see?
Jim & Murphee at Port Moody
We walked out on the dock to watch the sun set and then slipped & slid a short distance over the snow. While we were at Rocky Point, we saw TWO Airedales. One was enormous and, sadly, we didn't get a photo of him. The other was a dear little puppy named Newton - cute as a button and full of puppy tricks. He climbed our legs, mouthed our hands and offered to joust with Murphee.
In the photos, you can see we have all developed
What you will never see in Australia . . .
