Things that makes me think of her every day
(and there are so many more):
* Every time you said her name, she wagged her tail and smiled.
* She loved sitting in Jeff's lap while he read his Kindle.
* At precisely 4:00 she started staring at Jeff,
lobbying for dinner. Frosty joined in.
* I always had to put my clean socks up while I was sorting laundry.
Otherwise she hid them in all the corners.
* When I went to the basement to use our exercise equipment,
she always waited for me at the top of the stairs.
All you could see were her ears.
* When Jeff & I went for our daily walks,
she was always at the back door,
waiting and watching for me to get back.
She wagged her tail furiously as I approached.
* She had a crazy quirk which migrated to Frosty.
When you turned on the outside hose, it squeaked.
She barked furiously and ran to the sink to look for
"the mouse under the sink".
Frosty joined in at the door with menacing barks.
Who knows what they were thinking.
* She presented me with one of her "babies" every night
at dinner time and then carefully placed it in a good hiding place.
* When I retired to the couch every night,
she lay at my feet or curled around my knees. It was our daily routine.
She waited for me to get our blanket and then she jumped up.
I miss this more than words can say.
Katie on Halloween 2014 . . .
In time the memories will be sweet; now there are only tears and tears
and heartbreak at the loss of this incredible Cairn who was my heart dog.
Katie watching over me on the couch one night when I was ill . . .
. . . this represents all that she was to me.
