Ron & Jan hold Joey . . . getting ready for his big surgery.
Shell writes:
A little bit of an update. Dr. Ammon examined Joey this morning
and Joey is in much better condition than when he first came in.
Dr. Ammon is only going to remove the masses that are problematic
and going to leave behind the two smaller fatty masses
that pose no health concerns. That way he could also do a dental today,
as Joey badly needs a dental.

LATER IN THE DAY:
The main mass that was
over his back was removed;
it was about three times
the size of a golf ball and
encapsulated in fat.
Another fatty mass
by his groin was also removed.
Two other small fatty masses
were left as Dr. Ammon felt
there was no reason -
beyond cosmetic -
to take them out.
This allowed him to do
a dental at the same time.
All but SEVEN teeth
were extracted!

Joey will spend the night at the clinic and come home tomorrow
with a drain which will come out on Thursday.
