TOKI GOES HOME

28 JUNE 2009

Brenda writes:

Toki was spayed on June 26. Here she is after
getting home from the vet. I put her in her crate
and she slept. She didn't eat, but drank plenty.
She was really kinda groggy the next day,
so I just let her stay wherever she wanted.

Like Gidget, Toki was pregnant.
The vet said she wasn't too far along and aborted.
I wasn't happy about that, but I knew it needed to be done.

Toki's new parents came from Kennesaw, Georgia today.
They positively loved, loved, loved her!
I told them that Toki was a gem to have in my home.
She just wanted to be loved on and stayed right with me.

She came right to Tony & Kendra and gave kisses.
Kendra & Tony lost their eight-year-old Cairn,
Daisy, and brought along several pictures of her.

Tony & Kendra are going to also foster to adopt Harley.
I needed to get Harley (OS) in from Florida and sent his info
to them, since I had asked them about adopting two.
I had sent them several pics and options; they chose Harley,
who should be with them on Thursday.

I kissed Toki goodbye and told her it was
a real pleasure having her in my home.

Kendra & Tony were two of the nicest people you could
ever meet. We have another Cairn placed in a SUPER home.

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top -
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hide Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never re-pack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
