No heartworms, thankfully!!
Gidget weighed 14 pounds. She did great on the table. She did, however, test positive for whipworms. Dr. Jim recommended a dental within the next four months.
Toki (f/k/a Crickett), weighed 18 pounds. She's healthy as a horse.
Breezy, whose birthday was 12 June, weighed 11 pounds. She is the youngest and the one who was "messed up the worst". She has conjunctivitis in her right eye, ear mites and dry eye. She is on steroid drops, antibiotic; after the antibiotic is completed, she will need artificial tears. She also tested positive for whipworms. Dr. Jim said that she would benefit greatly from a "tear test" after all the steroid & antibiotic treatment.
Koby weighed 15 pounds. He had an ear infection and conjunctivitis. He's on meds also. He really needs a dental.
Dr. Jim said they were the calmest dogs he'd seen. He couldn't get over how sweet and relaxed they were. Gorgeous cairns, he said. He also recommended retesting all dogs for whipworms in a couple of weeks, for safety sake. He loved how nice they looked and is always talking about the care that CRUSA gives their rescues.
The total cost of the visit (without spay/neuter or dentals) was $328.12.
After we got home, Lynne & her parents called; they were almost to my house. She fell in love! While we were putting everything together, Gidget & Breezy picked up toys and played; then Breezy got the leash and started taking off with it. I did remember to take pictures this time!

Mel & Lynne's Dad talked computers while all this was going on, but first he had to make sure all CRUSA tags were on the collars/harnesses.

Mel also went to the vet with me today and helped me tremendously by carrying everyone in & out. THANKS, MEL!!

Gidget gets love
Lynne, thanks so much for coming down to get everyone. Lynne met Jen and gave her Toki & Breezy. Jen hasn't gotten home yet as I write this, but I have heard from her and she said they are "so sweet".
Jesse gets some attention
Scrappy wants attention, too
I will say that these four have been so loving & sweet. All they want is love & attention. I want to squeeze them, they are so cute.

On Tuesday, I drive to Cincinnati to put Gidget on a plane to Seattle; as I type this, I'm singing, "Leaving on a jet plane" . . . .
