WHY I HAVE A HOUSEKEEPER

27 JULY 2008

Charlotte writes:

Every two weeks, this wonderful woman named Loveda comes to my house to try to impose some order in my home. I've often wondered why, given my chaotic & pathetic housekeeping abilities, she continues with these heroic, yet ultimately hopeless, attempts. And yet, continued she has, for at least the last dozen years. I think I may have finally figured it out. I think she may be trying to rescue the dogs from the chaos. They seem to appreciate her for her efforts.

The one living up to her name with all the "kizzies" is the irrepressible Ms. Kismet. The one submitting to being loved on is Fergus (now Ferguson). On the day the pictures were taken, Joey was away on a trial run for adoption. Whenever he is here, he goes just as nuts over Loveda. I discovered that when I happened to be home when Loveda arrived. I was upstairs with the dogs with the door closed. When they heard her arrive, both Kizzie & Joey went nuts wanting to get out. I opened the door and they both charged down the stairs (that includes Joey, who never moves at more than a measured pace), ran to Loveda and were all over her with big sloppy "kizzies"!

While I'm about it, I thought I'd show a couple of pictures Loveda took of Kizzie, Joey & me, showing why I don't try to work at home.
