I didn't get many pictures . . . when we met Don at Chili's at Gurnee Mills . . . the place was packed to the gills with cars . . . no parking spots. We finally got one and while we were moving the dogs, people kept asking when we'd be finished and could they have our parking spot . . . it was CRAZY . . . too many cars and people . . . definately a different spot next time to meet.
Jack is a six-month-old Bichon who was going to Safe Haven Bichon & Friends Rescue near Madison. Joe & I overnighted him so Margaret wouldn't have to be on the road so late at night. Of course it was our pleasure! He was shy, scared to begin with and was happy just to be held; liked to snuggle right up under my chin.
That lasted a short while; then the barking and wanting to play began . . . bark bark, run run, bark, run, bark, bark and managing to stay just short of my fingertips to grasp him to shush him . . . . Joe had to get up at 4:30 a.m. and was trying to sleep.
As you can see, our foster Poppy is very, very shy and scared of just about everything & anything. But she especially doesn't like the camera . . . couldn't get any other pictures all day today and it wasn't for lack of trying! She will let you pick her up but starts shaking. And while you hold her she is so stiff and will not relax. Lisa showed me how to give a doggy massage and she did it on Poppy . . . she actually relaxed from head to tail . . . even closed her eyes for a few minutes.
Poppy has adopted our Maggy and just about sits on top of her to be close to her . . . in fact I had to take her off of Maggy twice today, as she was buried under Poppy! If dogs could talk I would be in so much trouble from M & M . . . . Hopefully lots of TLC & patience, along with baby steps will bring her around. What a cutie she is though . . . .
When Kathy saw Boomer, she was so excited! She took him out to switch crates and her first words were, "Oh,oh," so I don't know if this guy will be going anywhere soon . . . it was love at first sight! He sure is adorable . . . like a teddy bear . . . . Kathy could barely lift him, said he needs to lose a few pounds, and he probably will with her kids playing with him and the other dogs in the house. Wonder if Boomer will be invited to her daughter's friend's house for tea parties like their first Boomer was?? Hope so!
Kathy's first foster CRUSA Cairn, Boomer, is coming to stay for about three weeks, as his mom & dad are going on a trip. . . . so she'll have Boomer & Boomer . . . should be interesting, to say the least!!
